After more than ten years as a 2D artist, Vliegwork makes the transition to the three-dimensional domain with Five Finger Scrapbook.

In this first sculpture, limited to 5 numbered pieces, he translates his drawing style into volume and invites the viewer to experience, together with him, the transition from line to object.

Where illustrations do not respond to light and shadow, here they play a central role. The form changes with the space and with the viewer’s movement.

Five Finger Scrapbook marks not only a new physical dimension, but also an artistic shift in which past, present, and future come together.

For decades, the tattoo flash sheet existed as a flat archive. Blueprints of cultural identity pinned to studio walls, waiting to be chosen. This three-dimensional wall sculpture represents a radical migration from that two-dimensional heritage. It explores what happens when iconic subcultural motifs are pulled off the flat page, peeled away from the constraints of skin and paper, and launched into physical space.

The work bridges two distinct worlds: the bold, intentional lines of traditional tattoo culture and the structural weight of contemporary sculpture. By translating graphic ink drawings into physical mass, the piece gives permanent, architectural form to a medium that is traditionally temporary.
